THE ALBANIAN BESA CAPITAL FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF ALBANIAN MICROFINANCE

The microfinance sector in Albania plays a crucial role in the country’s economic and social development, by offering accessible financial services to individuals and small businesses that are often excluded from the traditional banking system. As this sector supports the financial inclusion of vulnerable groups, particularly in rural areas and for entrepreneurs with limited financial capacity, the Albanian Besa Capital (ABC) Foundation aims to contribute through financial support in the form of grants for capacity-building activities in the microfinance sector. This program represents one of the Foundation’s main priorities, recognizing the vital importance of sustainable capacity development of microfinance institutions.

In this framework, on 20 – 21 May 2025, a training titled “Leadership, Effective Team Management” was held at the Besa Fund’s Head Office, with the participation of the directors of 16 regional branches and the Central Office. During the training sessions, participants were introduced to the key characteristics of a successful leader, ways to develop these skills, and concrete techniques for engaging, motivating, and effectively leading teams toward achieving targeted results.

With this initiative, the ABC Foundation seeks to help build a stronger, more transparent microfinance sector that better responds to the real needs of the communities it serves.
